I think you are correct ropat. I believe it is a Mercedes Benz 460 Nürburg, but specifically the original 1928 (high frame) design, not the sleeker low frame design which originated in 1929, although the high frame design was still available in 1929, as well. As you said, it could be any of several coachbuilders, I'll try Jos. Neuss.
There aren´t too many differences compared to this works body, but there are some:
