The manufacturer of the base car built cars after 1927, and it isn't Stoewer.

Twice close, though not correct, for the model and the year, but the coachwork was not done by an established coachbuilder.

Wanderer W10 from 1928?  I didn't really think the body was by an established coachbuilder, but, if not an established coachbuilder, I have no idea who it might be.

Yes, the base car is a Wanderer W10 from 1928. The builder was an individual, but not unknown to AutoPuzzles.

Anyone connected with Ferdinand Porsche's operation in Stuttgart?  I think most were Austrian, but perhaps there was a German among them.

Espenlaub...
Right you are! It is Gottlob Espenlaub's first creation, built in 1928 on a Wanderer W10/II chassis. He used it also for hauling his airplane.
