Is it the Ford V8 of Alexander Paetzold and Alfons Nülsen at the IV. Internationale österreichische Höhenstraßenfahrt? The Hanover plate would fit.

It is the Pätzold car!
The puzzle photo was made at the 1937 Alpenfahrt.

I´d really like to see another photo of this Ford special!

My Eifelrennen guess was not that bad. Here is the same car without its aerodynamic front at the 1937 Eifelrennen:

Then maybe this was its first look with a more conventional bodywork.

I´ve scanned this photo from a 1936 magazine recently:

I just found out, that this Ford V8 Sport special has been bodied by Karosseriewerk Weidenhausen in 1936.
The small horizontal slit in the bottom of the cooler mask must have been added later before the 1937 Alpenfahrt race.
