LOCKED for Wendax!
It is indeed a Stoewer race car.
But now I need some more significant details.... ;)
I found a picture of a similar Stoewer race car, driven by Willy Cleer from Frankfurt. I guess it is based on one of the four-cylinder Stoewers of the D series, probably a D3 or D9. The background car in the second picture could be the aero-engined D7.
It is most possibly the same type of car with a different front end.
But it has not a "D" name.
Can you tell me the engine displacement, a driver, a race where it has participated?
It should be a Stoewer 8/24 PS (which would make it Typ D3 based) driven by Ernst Kordewan, for example at the 1922 Fanö race in Denmark, see below. The car started in the 2.5-litre class, the stock D3 had an engine capacity of 2,120 cc.
Now I can give you this point.
It is indeed a 1922 Stoewer 2,5l racecar, driven by Mr. Kordewan.
As far as I know, this version only raced at the 1922 Klausenpass race and at the finnish Helsingfors ice race.
With a 2.5 litre engine it should be the Stoewer Typ 2 1/2 LA 2 with the enlarged four-cylinder D3 engine.
