Who knows this car?

grobmotorix

No, but close... well, only concerning the bodywork.

To help:

the chassis is US-American.

No.

Nothing german with this car.

As I wrote before, the chassis is American.

I was having a little problem with your hints, but I have this one as a 1931 Packard with coach work by Graber of Switzerland.

Yes!

It is indeed a Packard and the bodywork was made in Switzerland.

It may have been manufactured at Graber, but I was not able to find proof.

Anyway - this is LOCKED for you.

However I want to know what the exact name of this one was (the make), before you will get this point.

Bill Murray

I am still not sure where you are going with this one, but.......

1931 Packard Super Eight 840 with Cabriolet body by Graber.

And yes, it is Graber according to my source, more than one built.

Yes sure, but the make was labeled not just "Packard", but "..... Packard"

Many technical details have been changed and improved in Switzerland, before those cars were finished so they aren´t just normal Packards.

It´s so easy you might not think of it...

Bill Murray

OK, but this is certainly not well known and I just found one reference to the name.

The Swiss Packard importer Werner Risch apparently labelled his Packards as "Swiss Packard".

I have honestly never seen a photo, and I have looked at thousands over the years, or a reference in several Packard history books I have or have seen that describe a Packard bodied in Switzerland as a "Swiss Packard" but I guess that is the way it was.

Your point!

It is a rare bird indeed.

It was labeled the "Swiss Packard" due to many changes and improvements.

here is how the logo has looked like:

It is an understatement to say that "you learn something new every day on this Forum".

Thanks for the point and the further information.

Here is another variant of the Risch Packard/Swiss Packard logo.

I searched for swiss Packard and did not get a result.

Still now you will only find my puzzle (see below)

Again the search engine failed  :(

Well thank you.

May someone please merge those...

It is the old hyphen problem. "Swiss-Packard" won't be found, if you search for "Swiss Packard" and vice versa. Our search engine is not as clever as Google, but has much nicer pages to search in.  ;D
