Can you identify this car ?
Tojeiro ?
Not a Tojeiro
These 1950's small British sports cars are all so similar. :taz:
It is British isn't it?
Partially British..... ;D
Oh me gawd!
British engine?
Is the rest of the car (chassis and body) from Australia?
Only the body is non-British (AFAIK), but not from Australia
Is the chassis and engine from an 1172cc Ford Anglia or Prefect?
No Ford mechanics
American built?
Not from the States

MG underpinnings?
Yes ! I lock it for you until your next guess
Not British, not Australian, right hand drive, MG-based
Is it from Ireland?
Please unlock this as I'm just fishing.
Not Irish, still locked for you. RHD doesn't explain everything ...
French rebodied MG TD
Not a French body...
Thinks "who would use an MG as a base car?" ..... ...... thinks ........... ..... thinks ...... ..... .....
 Netherlands?

Yes, very good ! It's indeed a Dutch body, locked for you to tell me who built the body and from when it dates
I don't know any Dutch builders' names so I'll guess at van der Merwe Gatsonides in 1950.
Please unlock as all this is guesswork, and it's not fair on anybody who might know or who might be able to make a better guess.
Not Gatsonides, less known... One more guess ? Enclosed the whole picture
That is Zandvoort
Year - Maybe 1954 ?
The car - the MG Special of Dries van der Lof ??
Please unlock as I don't have any leads to follow.
Later than 1954 and not by Van der Lof (but good guess though). Unlocked
Up
Anton Schipperijn ?
Han Vetter?
Spaay-MG Special of 1957?
Not Vetter or Spaay and later than 1954
From 1958?
A few years younger than 1958 ;)
1956?
Younger means less old... ;)
Eshaussier?
Not Eshaussier
1955, isn't it?
Not 1955... I said less old than 1958, so more towards the '60's.....
by Wim Blankevoort?
Not Blankevoort...
Peter Ijzer in 1963?
Not IJzer and earlier than 1963
G.H. Bischot?
or Gijs van Dijk?
Martien Bijlsma was still racing an MG TD in '61 - is this a rebodied car of that type?
Not Bisschot or van Dijk...
but
Martien Bijlsma is right ! A point for Nicanary, well found !
I found an old Zandvoort entry list for a meeting on 3.9.61 - in the list it's simply named as an MG TD. If this photo was taken in 1960, then he must have rebodied the car in a more modern style, but the seating position seems to be very low. Still cheaper than buying another car!
