British/ If so, Triumph/
It is indeed a Triumph, locked for you to answer the rest of the question
1938 Triumph 14/60 Vitesse styled by Walter Belgrove
Not a Vitesse, not by Belgrove and a bit earlier than 1938. One more try ....
1935 Triumph Gloria. Later rebodied by ... Abbott?
!935 is right, but not a Gloria and not by Abbott. Sorry D-Type, good tries but unlocked !
Is the body somewhat later than 1935?
AFAIK is the body also from 1935
Triumph Southern Cross. Body by ? Swallow?
Too easy for pro's.... No more experts' guesses ?
Is the body British?
I have this as a Triumph Continental by Graber from 1937

That's the car indeed, although from 1935 as established earlier. Point for you. I enclose another side view pic, a nice car into my opinion.
This did not make it to the Pro level, but here is another photo which indicates it is a 1937 Triumph Gloria Continental with body by Graber. It may well be that the chassis was 1935 and the body 1937, I don't really know.
The source (not dream-cars) is usually pretty reliable.

Thanks Bill. I took the info from the exhibition catalogue where the car was shown. Just checked it again and the right year is 1937, so I changed the header. The Triumph register also say the Continental was introduced in 1937.
