Is it an alternative very early Ford T-Bird design study?

Ray B.

Much too weird, don't you think ?
No.

"Another example of car equipped with the side-valves engine of the "M-72" motorcycle, was the prototype in the pic above, called "KADI-2". It was realized in the 1961, although not directly by the Dnepr factory; the manufacturer was the "KADI" Research Institute, in the city of Kharkov (Ukraine). It had an interesting feauture: it was the first Soviet car with plastic coachwork. The styling was brutally copied from American cars as Cadillac and others, although an engine of 750 cc! The car, although the appearances, had quite small dimensions."

Much less impressive than the scale model, isn't it?

It doesn't look like the builder of the real car ever saw the model...
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

At least he got the two-toning right.

That last picture is fantastic, when you take a closer look.
First by the row of portraits to the left.
Second: how does the driver manages to see anything with those huge letters in front of him (spelling "KADI" in cyrillic)?
Third: is the peasant girl and worker boy on the thing the car is pulling (supposing they're human and not painted sculptures) are gonna stay on top or fall off if the road is too bumpy.

As promised:

Below is a translated and slightly edited period article describing this car. Chadi-2 was the first Soviet car with fiberglass bodywork.

THE CAR IS CREATED BY STUDENTS

In front of you (on a photo) a two-seater car CHADI*-2. It is designed and constructed by student's design bureau (SDB)** at department of cars and engines of the Kharkov passenger cars institute. Supervisor of students from mechanics department - the master of sports V.K.Nikitin (В. К. Никитин).

CHADI-2 - a sports-tourist car. Its design is executed on the basis of knots and units of serial cars and motorcycles. The engine and coupling is of type М-72. The transmission, front and rear bridges and steering are taken from car Моskvich 407. The capacious trunk is located in a back of the car. Driver's place is very convenient, thanks to what fatigue decreases at long driving. The lightweight body is original. It gives to the car attractive appearance and provides a good review.

While manufacturing the bodywork a full-scale plaster model of the car was made preliminary. Its surface after careful furnishing was covered with a thin layer of paraffin. Then started a multilayered (10 layers) pasting of model using fiberglass material.

The frame is made of elliptic welded pipes. The car develops the maximum speed of 100 km/h [62 mph], consumption is 7 l of fuel for 100 km [~ 35 mpg]. It weights - 500 kg [1101 lbs], length - 4180 mm [165 in], height - 1630 mm [64 in], width - 1050 mm [41 in]. Wheelbase of the car - 2240 mm [88 in], clearance - 150 mm [6 in]. The car utilizes Zaporozhets' tyres.

**  Original: студенческим конструкторским бюро (СКБ)

For 1 point what is this car and where and when was it built?

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

This one could be construed as a repost, although my puzzle car is not the same one as the original puzzle..

Again if the Rookies don't manage to get this one I'll probably merge it with the original rather than move it up through the boards.

Although the name of this car has been puzzled before the picture was different, so I'm moving this on up to the Experts to see if they can get it.
If not we'll see what to do with it...

Yes!
I have what looks like a model for it too if you can include that?
Also I asked where it was built, for that point?

sure it's a repost (even if the puzzle pic in the original topic http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=3760.0  was a model). Paul Jaray posted the same picture as yours in his reply, and identified it.
I don't see the point of it: As Allemano says, "We've forgotten more cars than you'll ever know."

I know he did, but that was not the puzzle picture.
There are lots of instances where pictures have appeared in threads but are not actually the puzzle car.
Think very few people on this site would be able to say "Oh yes, I've seen that picture as part of Ray B.'s Kadi thread"...

Anyway now that you've shown the link I'll merge it, but I'm still to be convinced that it really is a bona fide repost, as the puzzle pictures are different..

i actually had the name as Kadi 750 from Ukraine, same as PJ said when he posted the same picture.

Most active members today have been on the site for a relatively short time and would have no way of knowing that this picture has appeared before and solving it that way.  If we are to keep the whole thing going we need to be flexible to some degree and not say "that can't be posted as it appeared in a thread in 2007".  You might know that and one or two others might too, but the vast majority won't.
