Reliant Sabra prototype?
Is this car from Czechoslovakia?
Twice a No.
italian?
Yes.
Based on a major Italian manufacturer's car?
I am not sure what he used exactly to built this, but indeed he built his own model of a well known model by a well known major Italian manufacturer and did not bother to rename it.
So it is a home-built.......
SuperAmerica?
Moretti Tour De Monde?
The front looks like it, but that is not what it is.

Well I know it's a one-off built in 1966 and based on a Fiat Topolino, but sadly I don't have a name for it...

And that was just it...the builder did not bother to rename his creation. He put it up for sale this year on Ebay.it
and just called it my own built Fiat Topolino Spider.
As easy as that. one more point for you.
One more pic...

Looks as if it may have a front-engine ahead of the axle line and front wheel drive. Is it based on a SAAB?

None that I know of..
So, not only do I spell German incorrectly, but I also ask the same question twice. I'm getting old, I tell you. :'(
Did I mention I'm getting old?

A Fiat 500A topolino from 1938 rebodied in 1966.
That's right so I've given you a point.
Don't know how you go about finding the original though if it's a re-post; I've tried and it looks like you have too but have also been unsuccessful!
I have this in my folder, with the AP watermark...
If you do stumble across it perhaps you could merge them! Thanks.
I tried, but can't locate it.. :-\
Q: What's this car got in common with a convincing drag artist?
A: It's a bit of shock when the fancy clothes come off...... ;D
