Before I start to look into a folder with 5841 files...is this picture taken from a british magazine available also online?

grobmotorix

I guess you might know the source - yes, I found it online...

Paul Jaray

Yes, I think I have it somewhere.
But is it a British magazine? It will spare me some hours...

That's a Talbot!
It's "Dr. Roth's largely standard racing version", around 1942.

That's certainly Dr. Roth! But.......1942????????
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

The picture cames from a '42 issue...the car I don't know  :-\

grobmotorix

Yes!

And I guess it is the converted Talbot 105 in which he won the 1934 Alpine Trial in the second photo.

I think this should be worth a point!

I actually thought it was a saloon built for record attempts, and was searching for Bentleys or something similar.

The car was a 1934 model to Works Specification, which Dr Roth had converted in 1935 to single-seat form, and with a body resembling the current Mercedes-Benz W25. Presumably this photo was taken at that time - I can't imagine any venue being suitable in 1942.

I think that must be a very high headrest which makes it looked like an enclosed cockpit.
