I'm shocked that there are no current guesses about this one.

Is the fact that you are shocked that there are no current guesses, connected to a hydroelectric dam?

Is this maker reported in any other source that you know (books or websites)?

Was the car sold by a catalogue company under their name rather than the maker ?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

While incorrect, ropat53 gut the meaning of the clue.

Very little information is available, but I expect that's more or less correct.

You've also stumbled upon the missing element of the puzzle pic.

To be honest, I'm completely baffled. There appears to be a connection with a mail-order company and electric power generation. One thing's for sure, the puzzle car isn't a Sears Highwheeler ! Was it the standard company car for a power company, rebranded with their name ?

Not electric power generation.

I thought that this clue might mean that the car was converted to electric power, but there is still an exhaust pipe fitted. So. is it sales? That is, is this car used by a national electric-goods maker, like GEC, to enable door-to-door sales, or similar, and rebadged with their name ?

It's a curious one, indeed. The source of this photo says it is an electric car. The longet this puzzle goes, the more I think that source is in error.

I'm moving this to the Black Hole. Anyone who can scrounge up the answer I'm after (it's available online), you'll get two points.
