Title: GTC #111 - Uni Three-fer SOLVED: Yerel T1, Baumgartner HB1 and NTU Venture 8
Post by: DHoffmann on April 08, 2015, 08:05:19 AM
As is tradition, same digit numbers mean a special connection puzzle!

3 different vehicles, all with a common link, all worth 1 point. The link should be relatively simple to work out, so it's first come first served for this one!

Straight to the pros to avoid a wait in line!

I'm after the name of the person behind this project, the organization you already have - this came from Geneva University.

In English, certianly. The web? I'm not sure, I sourced these images out of a book I own. The book is well known, but I don't know if this has made it to the web. There's difficulties googling due to similar names with other popular search results.

I have two pending points attached to this puzzle so for sure I'd like it to be fully solved quickly, unfortunately there's zero trace of this Swiss project online and obviously I don't own the book where it is described.

I can only try to guess the answers to the remaining questions, which can take ages (remember the tuning puzzle ?), so are you ready for that ?

Here we go : is the project name a single word whose first letter is between A and M ?

Not a word, it uses the initials of the designer. Yes to the first letter.

As a further clue, the last name of the person that designed this is identical to someone who made world news a couple of years ago for something very unique.

Well now this is why I shouldn't give out clues on their own!  ;D

Yes, this was by a _ Baumgartner, so that gives you the last name and second letter of the project name.

Also, I must say, OUTSTANDING sleuthing to get that name on the first guess...

And with that I think we'll call this one solved!

Yes, this is a 21 year old Henry Baumgartner's HB1 design proposal for an efficient, safe and good looking grand tourer in 1959. The sliding doors were designed to solve issues of parking in tight spots.

I've included an interior design and will put this one to bed!
