Well experts, it's a palindrome so you know what that means!
Guess that truck time!
What is this and why is it special?
Professionals instead?
Apparently the load area was meant to move up and down?
Dutch built FTF (Floor Truck Fabriek), with rising/lowering bed?

Indeed, that is the special feature of this vehicle.

Not by them, no. Yes - correct feature.

Not a name I have associated with this, no.

Nope, wrong country.

European marque?
No it is not.
For clarity I'm not after the model of the truck - I'm not actually sure of that myself - but rather the name and company behind the modifications. Think of it as a truck tuner. :D
Is (was?) this "truck tuner" located in Australia or New Zealand?

Not from either of those two locales, no.

I wouldn't focus on 'truck tuner' as a search term, this is simply a modification to a truck for the purposes named above.
Not from South America.
From North America?
Does the palindromic name I'm looking for consist of just three letters?

Hah, sorry the palindrome refers to the puzzle number (131), not the name!
The name(s - 1 for the truck and one for the company that uses and
may have built it) I have are longer than three letters. And non-palindromic.
Is it a Kenworth 521 ?

Is it a Kenworth 521 ?
Whilst that might be the origin of the front portion of this truck, the custom modifications are what hold my attention for this puzzle!
I don't actually have any front-on images so I cannot say with any certainty if Kenworth donated one of their creations to this.
Was it made by ACME conversions ?

Nope, I do not have that name as being involved here.
