Its Michelottis design for the Australian Leyland P82 project which was going to be a little brother for the P76.
It would have  replaced the Morris marina in the Leyland  range in Australia.

Exactly!
As you see BL did have some better-looking prototypes in their armoury, it's just that they didn't bother using any of them, preferring instead to make quirky out-dated British designs with little appeal to overseas buyers...
