I just read an article about this one ... can't find it again but I think its a Japanese manufacturer that builds several copy cat cars.

This is a "build to order" OPTI LS300, they also build copies of the Renault 4 and the Mini with varying degrees of success.

Yes indeed, it's Daihatsu Opti L300 based. But do you know the name of the converter, and the odd name they give it?

I believe this is called the "Spunky" by ESB. Japanese translator program is a bit difficult.
