Now this one has surfaced again, I must say I really don't think that the identification of #8 is right.

I have found the web page where somebody describes it as a 1997 John Deere street sweeper in Team Penske livery, but I think that was meant as a joke.

I still can't find out exactly what it is, but it has a UK registration number from 1974/75. I have checked on the DVLA website, and it is registered as a Volkswagen, manufactured 1970, first registered 8 August 1974, with engine capacity 3500 cc and coloured yellow. Unfortunately there are no other useful details.

Maybe someone has some more information. I have drawn a blank on it, but I am fairly sure it's not a John Deere street sweeper!

I can't believe such a strange vehicle is still obscure to us...and it goes to some kind of meetings too!
I'm not sure it's a street sweeper (there should be others like that) and "John Deere" sounds like a joke to me too...
It was one of the names I had, I hope someone will have the final answer to that too.

The car was built by Zoltan Takacs in the small village of Bana. He spent 7 years developing and fine-tuning it. It was based on a Wartburg chassis. He planned to install a Renault 12 engine, but eventually settled on a Dacia engine.
The car was shown at the 2007 Budapest Luxury Auto Show (I don't know why the organisers couldn't remember him). Unfortunately, like many, many others before him, he was shunned by the Transportation Authority and couldn't register the car. He still has very bitter memories about this whole thing.

As I said the Zoltan Takacs' car is still around. Finally I got hold of the current owner who added new leather seat covers, tidied up the engine and refurbished the whole car

Is the last one #9 a Strother MacMinn design?

He published many sketched that have rather the same style of the puzzle pic.

#8. I believe you all know its builder. After I discovered it I just realized the biggest possible clue is the car itself! I won't lock it untill the correct maker and model name will be found.

Not based on a truck and powered by Rover V8.
It's not based on any other vehicle but there was a vehicle used as a model...
