Thinking along different paths: Continental tires and "Phoenix Reifen" sign in the background. Is it a German coachwork, perhaps Wendler?

I think I found out who the coachbuilder of this convertible was. Rometsch displayed a one-off Fiat 1100 Cabriolet at the 1951 IAA. The response to it was positive enough to start a series of 50 Fiat 1400 Cabriolets showing a similar design (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=19422).

Drauz would make much more sense in my eyes as they were closely located and related to NSU-Fiat and postwar NSU.
The company even was bought by NSU in 1965...

Her is my (not longer available source) - this guy displayed the IAA of 1951 with several contemporary magazine scans back then:
