An easy Rookie point.

For one point, please respond and identify this car exactly.

Wendax

It seems that there are no rookies around. So up it goes, a very easy expert point.

Wendax

Be serious, folks! I cannot move this one to the pros. There must be an expert around who might have seen a similar looking car in his life, so that he can place a guess.  ;D

Zerk

I think it is Volkswagen number 1-00003, a pre-production car. It was a restored car, but suffered in a fire in Hamburg, along with several other collector cars.

72Must

One of the VW 39 series , only 14 were built & had stamped panels unlike the more handbuilt VW 38.
This car is the only survivor ,( just about !)from 39 & is currently being restored thankfully

Wendax

You are both right, but Zerk was first, and I guess he would have easily provided the VW39 denomination, if I had asked for it. Better luck next time, 72Must.  :)

It is the first car from the Raffay collection I know of to be restored after that tremendous fire:

That's what it looked like before the fire:
