That's the car although I have it as competing in the 1940 Mille Miglia.

my source says that was the XII 1000 Miglia of 1938.
there is an interview by Vittorio Mussolini to an italian newspaper (Corriere della Sera) in 1998 who says ".... I've driven in 1938 the Mille Miglia with Orlando Piperno and I'm arrived 10th")
