What's this car, who built it and when - for 1 point?

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

That isn't what I was looking for, no.
What model of Renault is this car based on?

That's a Floride

It's actually still locked for Hondast until his next reply since I asked him specifically the question.
Floride is not actually the answer I'm looking for..

And that is still wrong, because the Renault Floride made its first public appearance in March 1958 as a prototype in Geneva, production started after the Paris salon in autumn 1958. The Chapron Mouette appeared in October 1956 as a coupe and a convertible. The convertible was renamed in 1957 to Racing. In 1958 it received the twin headlights. Production ended in 1960.

Quite so.
The Floride itself was of course also based on the Dauphine

Who knows this car?

grobmotorix

luisps

Could it be a initial prototype of Piero Frua for the Renault Floride?

grobmotorix

Renault is correct.

Dauphine is correct.

Frua? Not sure if it was his design - I only know the coachbuilding company.

LOCKED for you!

luisps

I've found that Renault asked Ghia to develop that project, but due to incompatibilities whit some of their customers, as Wolksvagen, they derivated the design to Frua, maybe this was a initial design of Ghia.

grobmotorix

I do not know if it was an in-house design or maybe done by Ghia.
The coachbuilding company itself was not Ghia.

And I am looking for their name...

Three more tries for you.

luisps

grobmotorix

Yes!

It is indeed a Chapron creation.

And it has a name - which one?

luisps

Step by step. In October 1956, at its presentation at the 1957 Salon de l'Automobile de Paris, was named as the Mouette cabriolet, but in 1957 its name was changed to Racing.
