Identify this car correctly (including the nickname of the car it is generally reckoned to be) and tell me what badge is missing from this photo of it?

Correct so far.
Can you say what model of Cisitalia it is and what badge is missing (as per the original question!)?
Locked for you to complete.

It is a Cisitalia Spyder and the badge missin is the Cisistlia one. I have seen a reference to the  Cisitalia 202 SMM Spyder Nuvolari on the source. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for.

Yes, a 202 SMM Spyder Nuvolari is what I was looking for; not its official title I'm sure but called that because it was built for him!  It's actually said to be a one-off and is nicknamed, as you say, the Razzo.
The Cisitalia badge was missing, that's true, but what I was looking for was the Maserati badge on the grille, which is there for all to see on the picture you have posted!
Another point!

This is truly an interesting car. I'd love to see a side view of it to understand those styling lines, but this seems to be the only image on the internet. According to information on other sites, it was entered in events in the US as a Maserati A6, although the chassis is Cisitalia.

And although the nickname Razzo would fit the unusual styling, it was a name commonly used to describe the Savonuzzi-bodied 202SMM cars with the rear fins. The projecting "side fins" make it look a bit like a "disco volante".
