yes,its called JIAD BUDDY plastic car from China.it was made in 1998 by jiaxing independence auto design and development -(JIAD) in jaixing city in Zhejiang province.JIAD was a joint venture between Asha engineering from Santa Barbara ,cal. and Taisun automotive from Singapore.The engine for the Buddy was a2.2 CA488 4-cylinder Chrysler. the model was Buddy Taxi.its mentioned of only one car was made,what a shame!

Asha Engineering was at the time of the original concept owned by McLaren Automotive Group of the UK and was working on a 'China Car' concept for Chrysler. Chrysler had a re-think and pulled out but Asha thought it was too good to waste so teamed up with Taisun of Jiaxing in 1994. It took 4 years to develop the car and set up the factory and it was shown at Beijing in 1998, trumpeting the fact that the GRP body would be easy to manufacture and repair. 1998 saw the start of the economic crisis in Asia however and the demand for a new taxi like this evaporated overnight. Asha Engineering also wanted out of China so they signed a new agreement with Taisun Automotive of Singapore to build the car and fit it with (coincidentally) a Chrysler engine. But everyone involved got into financial trouble and the whole project collapsed with this car and another 15 engineering prototypes built, none of which looked like the real thing and were subsequently destroyed.
