No, you were right first time, the base is Reliant.
Which Reliant?
Locked for you!

I didn't believe it at first, I find some information for the Liege, in the mid 90's built round the drive train of the small Robin, using the 850cc ohv aluminium engine and the aluminium gearbox, driving through a Suzuki rear axle.
Donor car (or parts used from):Robin reliant, engine options: Robin reliant.
or maybe I'm wrong.

No, it's not Robin-based.
However, now that you have 40 points (after getting so many of DHoffmann's tuned cars) you are well and truly a;Expert now so can't take part in Rookie puzzles any more, which means someone else will have to tell me the car's base for the point.  Sorry!

Well done on getting so many points so quickly; of course it means you may now post  your own puzzles if you wish.  I believe you are our first member from China, and whilst we've had plenty of Chinese cars puzzled before they often cause quite a headache.  I'm sure you can come up with lots of puzzles which will cause more than a simple headache!

Is it a '90s Liege Kitcar based off of BMC?

It's already been established that it is a Liege kit car, based on a Reliant, but the puzzler who got that far became an Expert so can't continue with this Rookie puzzle any more!
So all that's left to be established is which Reliant the Liege is based on..

Of course it is!
I gave the Rookies every chance to name this 4-wheel Reliant chassis but they weren't interested, so don't feel guilty!
