Griffon, surely someone would have sued them for being so close to tvr in styling and name?

It was close to TVR, yes, and I think accusations and threats aplenty were around at the time...
But it was probably around the time of TVR's latest bankruptcy so they had other worries on their minds!

2006 was the first mention of it, production of a couple a month by 2008.
melling 4.5v8 and ajp8 engine that was already in use for a while, plus bmw and dodge v10 options.

Yes!
I think only this one ws built and it had the AJP8 engine that Al Melling designed for TVR and which they fitted into the Cerbera and later Tuscans.
The Mellings really seemed set to continue the spirit of TVR after its demise but nothing ever seems to have come of them; the usual lack of funding I suppose.  Pity.
