Is it the Abarth 1000 SP that ran at 1969 Le Mans 24 hours?

It was built for Le Mans, but not in 1969.
Name is slightly different.. (Abarth 1000 ** *****  ********)

Abarth 1000 MC Sport Tubolare from 1962

This name will fit your clue (Abarth 1000 ** *****  ********) and I found this name in my index.
Checking the source, (Abarth Catalogue Raissonnee), it appears to be this one, the MC:
Googling that name, I think I found your source, but I still think the MC is different.

The puzzle car should be called 1000 Spider Sport, or Spider Tubolare, and had engines from 700 to 1000cc.

That is the name I was looking for, yes.  It was For Sale and that's how it was described and was built for Le Mans.  You'd think the seller would know what it was..

I dug a bit of information out about the car built for Le Mans which is reproduced below; I assume this is the same car but a lot of these names have been attributed down the years rather than by Abarth when the car was first made, I think.  You'll note that in neither article do they actually mention a name for the car!

You seem to be right that the MC Sport Tubolare is a different car so I'll try to give it the correct name in the heading!

I think this is probably the same car but with some later body modifications.

Here's the original puzzle picture:
