Yes indeed.
They made a very similar convertible which has featured on here before, but this coupé hasn't.
Hopefully it has survived, but many of this kind of car didn't.  They were not held in the high regard in those days that they would be today and many were simply used then left in a field to rot..

Incredibly I can see a family resemblance to the XJ6 of 15 years later.  Coincidence?

It's possible that when they were looking for a new 'traditional' grille design for the new XJ6 they looked back into their archives to see what they could up-date for their new baby!
On the other hand most car manufacturers seem to have no idea about the cars from their own past...
