Frua bodied Maserati Mexico then, I can find one in silver on t'interweb but not that exact one... Scarily there is a BMW-Glas Frua from 1967 that looks identical! Save that for another quiz?

That's what it is, yes.
It's under restoration at Redline Restorations.
I think you'll find the Frua BMW-Glas (which dates from the same year as this Maserati) has already been puzzled here..

Below is what the car used to look like (or maybe it looks like it now if the resto is finished!).
Frua actually made three Mexicos, all different and all very nice!
Two of them were, I think, prototypes but this one is said to have been built up from a modified Maserati Mistral, which I suppose is possible, as a commission.
