can Am related ?

You have solved part of the puzzle, but probably not in the way you thought.  The words CanAm are part of the answer, but the car did not race in that series.

Sbarro's Can Am sportscar

Yes! Built in 1969 by Sbarro ACA and called the CanAm, and as Shamrock says, powered by a Ford GT40 engine.

Mmmm...what do I do? If I had locked it for thewarlord, he would have easily found out the power source, but at the point shamrock entered his post the puzzle wasn't locked. Time to play King Solomon. I reckon Experts need to be encouraged, and I owe shamrock one because of my misposts in the past - one point each.
