German coachbuilder, none of the well known ones, but I wouldn't call it an obscure one. It was mentioned here several times before.

Was the coachbuilder we are looking for primarily a builder of commercial vehicles, or primarily (or at least equally) a builder of passenger cars?

You indicated the coachbuilder has been mentioned before.

This is a tough one, but earlier we had a discussion on the firm Gaubschat and they did a number of bodies on
Opel chassis.  Perhaps this is one of their creations on an Opel P4 or 1.2 litre of the mid 1930's.

Karosserie H. Harmening also did various Opel small commercial vehicles and has been here before.
