That's the right car, yes.
Actually I only realised after posting you really can't tell the race or where it was so we'll call it solved!
I believe the picture was taken at Sebring where it was raced by Andy Rosenberger in 1955.

And that will be your 20th point, which makes you an Expert!  Well done!
Of course it means you can't participate in Rookie puzzles any more, but it does mean you can post your own puzzles if you want.
