Was Panther involved ?
-
Panther was not involved. It is highly unlikely that this vehicle was ever built.
-
Project designed by an automotive company ?
-
The advertisement in which this car appears, indicates a manufacturing company is involved. The company name mentions two other products.
The advertisement was written as a joke. I have not found the original source of the ad.
-
It looks like an Allegro Vanden Plas grille..
So, Vanden Plas?
-
Vanden Plas is not part of the name
-
Was the advertisment featuring this car for a non-automative company?
-
Bentley?
-
Was it an advertisement by Lotus itself ?
-
The advertisement was not for Bentley or Lotus itself.
The company listed on the advertisement sold cars, lawn equipment, and products for children
-
Atco?
-
Harrods ?
-
Japanese company, not Harrods or Atco. As the advertisement included a price in pounds, it is probably British in origin.
(Sorry about the twisty maze of little passages. The ad itself is quite funny, to go along with the strange car. I couldn't resist making a puzzle.)
-
Is it a fictional company or a real one ?
-
Company is Fictional
-
Is it a spoof ad by the British magazine CAR in the late 1970s?
-
Spoof ad, from 1979 or later. Not from CAR magazine, as far as I can tell. I recently discovered another 3-letter British magazine, which may have created this ad.
-
CCC (Car & Car Conversions)?
-
Not CCC. The 3-letter name does not contain the letter "C"
-
EVO magazine?
-
Not EVO, but the 3-letter magazine name contains the letter "V"
-
Hey, that's the Satsuma Castanet XR4 Turbo!
Not just a car - it's a fanny magnet.
-
And the point goes to Barrett!
Here is the full ad:

(Assumed to be sourced from Viz Magazine)
The fine print:
Prices start at around 19,950 (pounds) for one that doesn't look anything like this. Price does not include seats, wheels, or major engine components. Prices, specifications or indeed anything else in this advert may be changed without notice, and probably has been already.
Satsuma Motor, Lawn Mower, and Dangerous Toy Company, Kyoto, Japan
