My picture is from 1954, the car was built in 53. It received a Moretti engine in 1954, probably after that Mille Miglia.

My source claims it's from 1951, but the photo is not longer online, so can't verify it. So it's very well possible you're right, point for you.

According to Curami's book, in 1950 Aquilino Branca drove a '48 Testadoro Marinella modified by himself. Using that chassis as a base, he built his first Branca in 1953, that raced the Mille Miglia in 1953 with Agostino Gariboldi.
