I don't think this has been posted before, so just tell us what's going on here: make of car and any useful details please

I think that's near enough for the point, but I'll leave it open for any more gen, such as engine manufacturer, venue, driver

I looked it up

It's Jim Meikle's Cooper Mk 5 with a  SNECMA pulse jet dating from 1956-57

Exactly so.
What I don't know is whether it worked. I cannot believe it worked well.
I also didn't associate SNECMA with pulse-jet motors and it turns out that they made a valveless pulse-jet which sounds impossible, and should only work (if it does) at a good airspeed which wouldn't be much use in a car.

Where is that photo taken, do you think? Those look like public road markings, not a British ex-airfield circuit. Maybe Rheims?
