I came across these two cars yesterday and could only get this poor photo because of the people gathered round.
For a point what make are they and what engines do they have?

Not much Rookie interest these days so Experts have it!

The two cars I was referring to are what you refer to as the main car and the one the other side of it.
Brough Superior is right, so locked for you until the next answer or for 24 hours.

Brough Superior is right.

Slightly confusing :) presume we are referring to the 2 drophead cars ?  Hudson 3.5 L 6 cylinder ?
Bonnet vents seem bit different on both

I think you've got enough for me to say this is solved and give you the point. I'm sorry to see that seems to tip you into the "pro" category which won't be as much fun.
You have identified the make as Brough Superior and the engines as Hudson with 6 and 8 cylinders.
The nearer one is the six-cylinder (3,455 cc.) from 1938 and the one behind is the eight (4,303 cc.) from 1935.
The bonnet vents are different but I didn't really notice if the bonnets are of different length for the two engine lengths

Congratulations and welcome. Please don't think the puzzles are going to be impossible - I've managed to nearly double my points score since I've been here, so it can't be all that difficult!
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Congratulations and well done 72Must.
Although life is going to be a little harder it can still be a lot of fun.
You just have to be a bit more patient!

Thanks guys ,it has been enjoyable , addictive & frustrating at times getting to this stage  :)
Thanks of course to all those who spend time finding & posting puzzles .

Some very knowledgeable people with  sizeable libraries  at Pro level  & one needs to be ready to pounce  :),I suspect a lot more research time involved too  ... I enjoy getting dirty with cars too ...there's only so many hours in the day

However ,the solved puzzles section always makes very interesting viewing ....other people having put in the hard work  :)
