What's this car and when?
Expert!
Pros!
French?
Not a french car
German?
Spanish?
European ?
Not european car
South American ?
Not South American
North American?????
Yes ::)
I can guess the approximate age of the car, but I can't understand why it has solid tyres.
Was it used on salt flats like Bonneville?
I expect the bricks it stands on are a heavy clue that it was an early Indianapolis racer. Perhaps those are skinny high pressure tyres (sorry, Tires!) which might have seemed a good idea at the time (say 1916 at a guess).
Allan, you found it!
Just google "1916 indy" and there's the solution!

I'd been looking at cars circa 1920. The thread runs dry after a couple of pages - even the Americans don't seem to know a lot about it!
It's all yours, Allan......
Same with me, I've been searching for Indianapolis / Indy / Speedway / Track car / cyclecar etc. in combination with years from 1919 to 1925, to no avail. Take it away, Allan!
I saw the same photo somewhere, but so far as I remember it was in a forum where its origins were being debated and no real conclusion was found.
Can't find it until I remember the name it has - oh yes, it was the Adams racer and this appears on that Forum but may not be true as I can find nothing to back it up.
1916 Adams Racer, All original
George Adams built it to race in the
1916 Indianapolis Race, but missed the entry deadline.
There seems to be some debate whether it is a Duesenberg engine. This is a better image.
I give the point for Allan L

Thank you but it was a bit of a team effort!
Interesting car to research, so thanks for posting that Bertrand!
No problem Allan L. I know you're not alone for found this puzzle, but you're the first to give the name and model. Good job the team...
