The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Parts of Moskvich may have been used to create this one-off vehicle.

But I would nou call it a Moskvich.

I want to hear the name of the builder.

I thought this was quite known...

Hint: It´s been published in a hobby magazine issue.

Time to search while it rests in the black hole.

faksta

Well..it's probably SMZ S3D based...

grobmotorix

Maybe - but I have no technical information, only the builder´s name.

Can that hobby magazine be found online ?

grobmotorix

If so this would have been solved much earlier I guess...   :-\

Wendax

So I better solve this puzzle before anybody puts the hobby magazines online.  ;D
It is Wladimir Barinow's (or Vladimir Barinov in English transcription) Sputnik, said to be built from Moskvich and Fiat 500 parts, powered by a motorcycle engine. The picture appeared in an early 1964 magazine.

Almosdt five years...

Now, this is TWO more points for you!

It is indeed Vladimir Barinov´s self built Sputnik car, partly made from an old Moskvich and powered by a motorcycle engine!

Do you know, which year the article was published? I did not save that detail back then.
