I've looked into this as far as I can.
Frederick59 has given me the answer I was looking for, and that is how the car is described on one website (though even Googling with the answer doesn't come up with it..)

But I don't believe there is such a car!  Hans Janecek seems to have had a large number of racing cars, many of them dubbed 'Spider', some with Lada and some with Fiat or Skoda engines, and I believe this is one of them.

As als15 says, it looks too much like a Metalex not to be one, so that is surely what it is, described for some reason on the entry list of one race as a "Janecek Spider", which as I said is really and all-encompassing description of all his cars..

So I'll have to give a point each, one to frederick for giving me that answer I was looking for and one to als15 for identifying what the car actually is!
