An interesting "Everyman's" car.

A Bedford HA1 BTV  "Basic Transport Vehicle" from 1972.

Sold in several developing countries under different names.

Below is the version for Ecuador.
Edit:  My photo caption is wrong, it should read "BTV".

That's the right vehicle of course, which I had as being based on a Vauxhall Viva HA; of course the van version of the Vauxhall Viva was a Bedford HA here in the UK..

Sorry for the confusion.  Yes, developed by Vauxhall but as I understand it, marketed as a Bedford in overseas markets.

The pilot plant was set up in Malaysia where it was called the "Harimau".  They had a different name in each country where it was sold.
