It was fairly easy to find ..)) According to the text in the ad it is a 1953 Alfa Romeo alloy Barchetta, handmade copy of an original racecar. Fiat 1100 front suspension, tubular chassis copied from Conrero, fitted with 1800 engine and 105 series gtv gearbox. Well, how should we call it ?

How about describing it by where it was For Sale?
I don't know if the car was built there but probably not...
It was for sale in Jakarta / Indonesia, probably not built there....Must have been quite a looker over there, but over here as well !

Yes; there are so many of these things and I compared it with those I could find without coming across a match...
In years to come when people of our generation have gone I can see these being auctioned as genuine items with fabricated histories and no-one will be any the wiser...

It's already happened, I believe. Certainly there have been dealers who've attempted to hoodwink the naive and unworldly "investor" - lucky for our generation that there are still historians who can debunk this, but as you say, in years to come this may not be the case.
I've nothing against companies like Pur Sang. Their work is superb and I would love to own some of it. They displayed an Alfa Monza at the Revival this year and it was breathtaking. It's not their fault that some people try to take advantage.
Having said all that, the puzzle car is a lovely thing .
