very similar to a Fiat 500 B Barchetta from 1957 (exception for Borrani wire wheels) that I have found on web. Unknown coachbuilder

It's so similar it must surely be the same car!
It is of course Topolino-based but I have another name included in its full name, who I took to be the builder.
That's the name I want but I'll lock it for Thorax until his next reply, to have a look into.

I'm not able to read the emblem, cause bad quality of the pictures: the plate is from Udine (my city), no idea

You're right, the car is registered in Udine.
But the other name is crucial to my puzzle answer!

Are you looking for the word "vulumetrico"?

I believe this to be a 1947 Maestri 500, one of six barchettas built on top of Fiat 500 Topolino running gear.

No (and not 'volumetrico' either...!)

No, it's nothing to do with Maestri (I think that would be a quite recent re-post)..

It was built in 1947 by Romano Armellin. The aluminium for the bodywork came from a British aeroplane wing, and the steel tubes for the tubular frame came from four bar stools.  :)

According to another source it's a 1939 Fiat 500 Sport but it's probably wrong.

Is the badge on the grille reading "Heber" ?

That's Weber, probably for the carburetors.

Yes, that is how it's referred to on some sites, though others have differing descriptions!  No two seem to say the same thing.  Since the car currently resides in Germany I'll assume you know what you're talking about and give you the point!

It is referred to on the Autobelle site as a 1938 Fiat Topolino 500 Barchetta Vulumetrico, but my Italian isn't up to understanding that..
It's also described variously on other sites as 1939 and 1950...

A couple more pictures:

I got my information from a 1999 Motor Klassik four-page article about that car, where they interviewed the owner who was president of the German Topolino club.
