An amusement park car built by the Ihle brothers. I have 1954 as the date of this particular one.

That's right, yes.
But it did have a name which I need for the point.
Locked for you to give it, along with the names of the brothers.

Once you come back with those answers you'll become an Expert so won't be able to answer any more Rookie puzzles!
But you will be able so set your own puzzles...

The brothers were Rudolf and Fritz Ihle, and they were building this little thing called a Schottenring in Bruchsal, Baden.

That's the name of the car, yes, and where they lived, but I have different names for both brothers!
I wonder who is right...  Have another look and see if you can come up with the names I have.
Still locked for you!

I guess you mean Frank and Thomas Ihle. I dismissed these ones... Actually I just know of a single internet page where they are called such, and as it also mentions that they are at the origin of the BMW "kidney", which is now widely known as a myth, I seriously doubt the information provided there and would rather bet on Rudolf and Fritz. But, I have no evidence whatsoever...

OK, I thought perhaps Rudolf and Fritz were just guesses being the default German names known to all non-Germans!

I'll give you the point and move the puzzle but I'll try to get to the bottom of their correct names..

So you're an Expert now!
Well done, but it means your days of answering Rookie puzzles are over...

I'll be more than interested if you find out anything regarding the brothers' actual names.

Thanks a lot - but points were already hard to come by, and it will now become even harder! :o

Rudolf and Fritz Ihle is correct, see picture below.

And I still don't know where the Schottenring name comes from, but it is not mentioned in period sources. The puzzle car is just another version of the Ihle Studebaker (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2012-41/solved-wendax-437-ihle-studebaker/), where the bullet nose has been replaced by another pseudo grille.
