John Birch was an interesting person.  The above images called him "G. Burch".  He went by the names John, George (after his father), and Bill.

He made four automobiles.  The first was completed in 1919 in Blenheim (cropped image attached).  The second was called both the Marlborough, and the Carlton.  I have attached an image of what appears to be the second car.  It is labelled as a Marlborough, and probably used the puzzle car chassis.

The restoration carried out by the Gisborne Vintage Car Club, turned the surviving Carlton truck, into the original automobile form.  I haven't found images of the restored car.

The fourth car was called the "baby Carlton".  I have found no images of the final car.
