I don't know who built this, but what's it meant to be a replica of, what is it based on and where was it built - for 1 point?
Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.
AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.
We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.
Have fun!
The bonnet line often gives this away. Is it based on an Austin-Healey?

Aha!
Maybe an extra point for the name of the builder then!
It might even reach the Pro's!
Experts?
Citroën-based?
Wild guess: it's based on a Citroën 2CV and replicates a Jaguar D-type?

It is based on a 2CV, yes.
It's not a replica of a D-Type but something very similar..
And where was it built?
I'll lock it for you for 24 hours to see what you can find since you've got the basics right so far.
Maybe a Jaguar E-type then?
Is this a kit-car that was for sale for everybody? Or is it a private 'design' by someone?
Built in France, maybe?

Not E-Type and not built in France either!
If not a D- or E-type, maybe a C-type?
UK-kit maybe?

Not a C-type either.
It's a one-off, not a kit car.
I'm out of Jaguars it looks like (although that's no reference offcourse ...)
UK then?

Yes, but you're mistaken moving away from Jaguars!
Jag XKSS, 2cv platform built in the US.

XK SS "replica" - yes!
2CV base - yes, already established
US built - no!
Here's a rear view clearly showing the optimistic Jaguar XK-SS script - if you've got very good eyesight, that is..:
XK SS "replica" - yes!
2CV base - yes, already established
US built - no!
Built in Netherlands?
It's not Belgian, is it? (according to the size and color of the numberplate)

No, it's not Belgian.
Most EU plates are of similar size and shape these days.
Blame the Brussels bureaucrats!

I guess we can try to knock a few others out...Lichtenstein, Monaco or Luxembourg? ;D
Who said Belgium?
It's wrong anyway!
Assuming it was you Ray, I can't answer any of the others since you're only allowed one guess at a time.
We have to have that rule otherwise there's nothing to stop one person putting multiple guesses (thousands even) to cover all angles!
Reply 21 said it's not from Belgium.
I understand the "one at a time" rule. My poor attempt at humor was brought on by fatigue and sunburn. :bag:

Mind you if you go by the annual cheesefest which is Eurovision - there are almost 40 countries to choose from!
I know there are Pro's who know...
It is from Denmark.
Whoever is able to decipher the logo might find the name of its builder... CLOUAN D.K.???
1 point for Wendax for identifying the country of build.
Still 1 point on offer for definitively identifying who built it; since PJ has already said he knows I'll lock it for him for 24 hours to post it!
The nickname is Ciguar D55 (Citroen-Jaguar).
There were 2 of them, this one, 2cv-based, and another one, based on an Ami Super with a back fin in the 'Le Mans' style.
Builder should be Mr. Helmuth Flemming, who also built an Ami-based Cobra replica.

Asra from Denmark, based on a 2CV
Never mind, seems mis-labeled
It does seem to be based on a 2CV, and it is supposed to be a Jaguar

Actually that was the answer I was looking for..
An Asra has been puzzled before but looks nothing like this car; I thought they'd diversified...
I'd forgotten it was one of my own puzzles and had a different name..
I'll give dzima a point for spotting that and merge them.
