What's this, based on what and built where, for 1 point?:

Triumph Herald-based home-built car from New Zealand
Too late...
Called Super Legerra (sic)...from 1972.
Very good!
It must be in one of those books?
oko94 has got exactly the right car but PJ has given the name; does that mean 1 point each?!
That's what I'll do unless anyone has any objections?
I don't think it was its name...the previous owner doesn't know it and this is how it was called on the web.
(at the beginning I thought it was a FS Super Legerra...then I realized FS stands for 'For Sale'!)
I have no objection for sure !
There's no need for the point, He would have find it with a lock and it's not the correct answer anyway.
I do not want to let other members think that if you quickly complete an answer you can have a point or it would be unfair (IMO).
I can add that this should be 1 of 2 ever built, it was running in Waiheke and it had a 2500 TC six Manual in it.
"A couple of rich guys decide they want to build kit cars in NZ, they get an English firm to design it up and make two prototypes, Lotus is involved at some time and they aquire an E-type Jag to scale it down to GT6 size.
Obviously this didn't go quite to plan, for instance where were they going to get the GT6 base cars over here? Both the Prototype survive, this is one and the other lives in a museum in Australia somewhere"
OK, I must say I didn't have that as its name so wasn't expecting it.
Point only to oko94 then but many thanks for the extra info PJ.
I always thought of the GT6 as a sort of mini E-Type, though this car looks more like a 240Z to me than an E-Type..
I wonder what Touring would make of all this? It would be interesting to know what "super leggara" principles were used in the construction of this car - I suspect it's made of GRP.
I'm not sure that "Super Legerra" (sic) is official at all.
I hadn't sseen the name in connection with this car and it was only when PJ came up with it I thought he must be right..
But now it seems it was just a bit of journalese and not an offical name.. They didn't even know how to spell it for Heaven's sake...!
I think I know where to find something...I'll have a look as soon as I get back home.

I now know this car's name so am opening up the puzzle again so a point can be earned by whoever can come up with it.
Open to all!

Indeed - as per below.
And I see it's another Barry Goldwater design:
