Early JWF Milano?

I'm not sure what the source of the body is; it could well be a JWF Milano body, but that's not the answer I'm looking for as the car itself is something else..

It is a one-off built in Oz, yes, based on a proprietary car and with a GRP body.

I rather naively posted Ford sidevalve earlier, instead of using a more encompassing word. Ford?

Crikey! Running out of ideas now. Was it a pre-WW2 engine?

HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!

Looking up Jewitt cars, naturally Google gave me everything bar Jewitt. It's a special-bodied Jowett Jupiter.

You got there in the end!  As you said, there really weren't many makes left to try..

It's Jowett Jupiter S/N 24 fitted with what's described as "a special fiberglass body" in Australia.
1 precious point earned!

I didn't think of Jowett as I didn't make the connection between the bonnet-top air scoop and the Jupiter's high-up waterpump/fan drive. It's on the home page of the Jowettjupiter website, so an authentic identification!
