Ashley 1172?

It's an Ashley body, yes - well spotted.
But that's only a small part of the answer.
It has a name I need along with what engine it has (not a Ford 1172).

No, I didn't lock it; he hasn't quite given enough info to earn a lock yet...

Lister-MG  MG engine

..but Lister does and this is very close to the answer I was looking for.
There is another part of the name still missing though (****** Special) and I'd also like to know what MG engine powers it.
But you've given me enough for a lock now so it's locked for frederick59 now to see if you can fill in the remaining details.

MSM Special and 1250cc MG td engine?

That's the missing bit of the name I was looking for yes, but the engine is much newer than that.
Have another go!  Still locked..

MG MGA twin campagne?

You're getting closer but even later still.
I'd better check my facts and make sure I have it right; the engine is obviously a later replacement for the original..
Still locked for you!

1798 cc 18GA?

Right engine, wrong car.  I don't think the MGA ever had the 1798 engine so it's actually an MGB engine but I think it's time to call this one solved!
