Am I right if I say that the puzzle car doesn't share any component with an American car, but is similar in its design to some American car ?

Paul Jaray

Big clue: not at all in its design. More in the way they were built...not kit cars but.....

oko94

Partially built car that had to be finished by its buyer ?

Paul Jaray

Not just finished...but I think you got the idea.

Wendax

Did the buyer get just the plans and had to do the rest by himself?

Paul Jaray

Yes, in a certain way.

From a magazine like "Système D" or "L'Automobile" (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=29348.25)?

Paul Jaray

Exactly, from one of those.
Locked for you.

Paul Jaray

The answer is in one of the magazines you mentioned in your reply...available online too.
There are plenty of details there, but I just need the builder's name.

Wendax

Still stumped. Is it from "L'automobile"?

Système D, issue 76, april 1952. It's for sale on different websites but unfortunately only the cover (with a drawing of the puzzle car) is visible. And, no, I won't buy it just for the sake of scoring a point !

Wendax

That is just about as far as I have got.  ;D
