was the base aircraft inspired, judging by the cock pit like housing for the driver?

Paul Jaray

I believe it was. However it's not reported in my source.

Built in the fifties ?

kwgibbs

did the builder name it after himself,or gave it a different name?

Paul Jaray

Named after himself, but it received a nickname by local press.

kwgibbs

was it a strange nickname like the martian car?"

ropat53

Was "cohete"(rocket) in the nickname?

Was "cohete"(rocket) in the nickname?
2 excellent guesses.
Not martian car or related, but as you can see from the pic, it was indeed placed once in a set with some martians!
Not Cohete or Rocket but close. I suspect my source had it translated and now it's not in its original form.
Anyway it's not hard, it obviously refers to its shape and we all know at least other 2 cars with a similar name.

oko94

Was it called Torpedo ?

Is the name space-related or rather aircraft-related ?

Paul Jaray

I'd say ...water related.
Consider that there are at least 2 Italian cars (quite known) that share a similar name, the only difference is that this one seems to be ...in 3 pieces.

Aero terra mare? or something like that?

kwgibbs

it also looks alittle like a pegaso v-102 bisliuro?

Paul Jaray

Nardi and Silver Fox were the 2 Bisiluro I had in mind. Beside these and the Pegaso there were also Taruffi's Tarf and Koenig-Fachsenfeld's BMW...but I don't think this will be of any help  :)

kwgibbs

monviso stella filante?

Paul Jaray

This car was built in Argentina and was named after its builder.
'Trisiluro' was the nickname given by the press.
Now only the builder is missing.

Is there any internet info about this car?
