Some sort of prototype or styling model

Yes, it's a prototype - but for what and by whom?

Is it a Rootes/Chrysler prototype for a proposed new Sunbeam Rapier?

..but it's nothing to do with Rootes/Chrysler.

Apart from the rear side window it looks rather like a Morris Marina Coupe.  Is it an early styling exercise for the Marina?

No, it's not a Morris.

Mg Condor project ?

No; I thought the Condor project was a Morris, but it's not an MG either.

Late Bond Equipe prototype?

Yes!
Locked for you to clarify which Bond Equipe, who designed it and who produced it.

It would have been a mk3 2 Litre, designed in house I'd imagine on Ribbleton Lane 69-70.  I still can't understand why Reliant bought Bond, other than to kill their competitor...

It is a 2-litre GT from around that time yes, being up-dated by new owners Reliant.
Was that Reliant's address in Tamworth? I have to confess to not knowing it! The changes to this version were minor, and what I am looking for is the original designer of the Equipe 2-litre; it wasn't an in-house design.
I'll keep it locked for you to have another go at its designer.  One or two of his signatures are there...

Ribbleton Lane and India Mill were the Preston Bond factories, they made scooters, folding caravans, mopeds and jetskis as well as 3 and 4 wheelers!

I thought the Fiore design was Pre the Reliant takeover, though I've lost contact with Nick who wrote the book on these fascinating cars...

Yes, Fioré designed the original 2-litre which was launched in 1967, but that's the answer I was looking for as the changes to the Mk3 were only detail changes with the basic shape unchanged.

So that's a point well-earned.
