It is powered by a NSU motorcycle single cylinder engine.

Don't know if it's worth a point, but I know this car: it is called  NSU Monza Special.
Only 10 exemplars were built in 1958 and they were commissioned by BP.
In the following pics, here you are the inspiration for these cars, built in Netherland, and the car I saw last year in Padova.
